Warkworth Satellite Station

Project Information

For this project we undertook a substantial installation and upgrade focusing on the power and control systems for one of the largest telecommunications infrastructure sites in New Zealand. This work involved comprehensive electrical and cabling solutions tailored to the specific needs of the site, emphasizing reliability, safety, and future scalability.

Key Features

  • Main Power Distribution:

This project entailed the installation of a 120mm copper feed from the Teleport to the Groundwork Service Equipment (GWSE) H-Frame, ensuring a robust and reliable power distribution system essential for supporting critical telecommunications equipment.

  • Control and Security Systems:

Our team expertly installed conduits, boxes, and cabling specifically for CCTV and access control systems. These installations are crucial for enhancing site security and enabling effective monitoring of operations.

  • Infrastructure Enhancements:

The project incorporated the installation of check meters, RCD (Residual Current Device) protection, distribution board enclosures, and MEN (Multiple Earthed Neutral) connections, all in alignment with New Zealand's stringent electrical standards. This ensures that our setup not only meets but exceeds compliance requirements, guaranteeing an efficient and safe electrical infrastructure.

  • Cable Management Solutions:

A cable tray system was installed to streamline power distribution from the trench to the Teleport GWSE Distribution Board. Additionally, VSTX enclosures were implemented to improve the integrity and durability of the system.

  • Comprehensive Groundworks:

Our approach included meticulous ducting installations that align with the site's specific layout plans. This strategic integration ensures that the electrical infrastructure is seamlessly embedded within the physical site, enhancing functionality and aesthetic coherence.

  • Specialized Equipment and Materials:

For areas requiring heightened durability, such as boundary fences, steel conduits were utilized to protect electrical components from environmental factors. The project also featured advanced electrical components like a 200amp distribution board for the GWSE H-Frame, crafted to meet the detailed and exacting specifications outlined in the planning documents.

By prioritizing advanced materials, strategic design, and compliance with national standards, this project showcases our capability to deliver superior electrical solutions tailored to the specific needs of telecommunications infrastructure.
